FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between a studio yoga class and yoga therapy?

In a studio yoga class, the teacher compiles a sequence of postures ahead of time to create a generalized experience (i.e., beginner flow) which is aimed toward the group as a whole.

In yoga therapy, the therapist meets with you one on one and develops a personal practice for you which is specifically directed toward your goals and adjusted based on your ability and needs.

Do I need prior yoga experience?

You do not need to know anything about yoga or have any experience. All that is required is a desire to change or improve something about your life and a willingness to do the practice. The yoga therapist will be there to support you.

What if I have a physical injury or limitation, or a stiff body?

A yoga therapist is trained to make adjustments and modifications ensuring that you can work through your program comfortably, effectively, and without injury, regardless of your specific limits.

A yoga practice often improves stiffness and inflammation, which most people experience.

What if I have COPD, asthma, or other breathing difficulties?

We have refined  tools to help you work on your breath. A yoga therapist will help you breathe in a comfortable manner which will support your yoga and your general daily activities.
