Gentle relief through yoga therapy

EVANSVILLE YOGA FOR ARTHRITIS

Yoga made for your joints.

Living with arthritis doesn’t have to mean living in pain. My approach to yoga therapy offers a gentle, natural way to find ease in your body again. Whether you’re dealing with stiffness, joint inflammation, or chronic discomfort, I’m here to support you with a customized practice that meets you exactly where you are.

How Yoga Can Help with Arthritis

Arthritis often brings pain, swelling, and reduced mobility—but yoga offers real, practical tools for support. Gentle movement paired with breath awareness can improve joint function, reduce stiffness, and bring more ease to your everyday activities. Research shows that moderate physical exercise, including therapeutic yoga, can help manage both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, not only easing pain but also improving mood, sleep, and quality of life.

In my work, I don’t just focus on moving the body—I consider all aspects of your well-being. That includes your breath, your mindset, your habits, and even your emotions. Everything is connected. If one part of you is out of balance, chances are others are too. Yoga therapy gives us tools to begin restoring that balance from the inside out.

A Personalized, Gentle Approach

No two people experience arthritis the same way. That’s why every practice I offer is adapted to your specific condition, symptoms, and goals. If your knees are achy, we’ll modify poses to take the pressure off. If your hands are inflamed, we’ll explore gentle joint mobility. If your energy is low, we’ll use breath and meditation to support you.

You do not have to be flexible, athletic, or able to get up and down off the floor. Many of the practices I offer can be done in a chair, and some don’t require movement at all. Sometimes, just shifting your breathing pattern can calm inflammation and relieve discomfort in surprising ways.

What to Expect in a Session

Whether we work one-on-one or you join one of my small therapeutic classes, the experience will be fully tailored to you. Sessions may include:

  • Gentle, functional movement to support joint health
  • Breathing techniques to reduce stress and inflammation
  • Meditation or mindfulness to shift how you relate to pain
  • Support for daily habits that promote healing

All of this happens at a pace that respects your energy and capacity. My goal is to help you find ease and feel more like yourself again.

Whole-Person Healing

Yoga therapy goes beyond symptom relief. It’s about helping you live with more comfort, confidence, and connection. It’s about supporting your ability to do the things you love—or perhaps discovering new ways to move through life with clarity and steadiness.

Even if arthritis has been part of your life for years, you can still experience real change. I’ve seen it happen. When you begin to relate to your pain differently, new space opens up for healing, movement, and joy.
